About me. Once upon a time, a long, long time ago.....       Alrunes Site History Alrunes.com was officially launched into this cyberspace world on August 22, 2001. The sun rose that day at 6:26am and sunset was at 7:38pm. In the skies a crescent moon appeared above a bright star in the southwest. That star is called Spica, the brightest star in the constellation of Virgo the Maiden. Spica is prominent in the spring sky and represents a shaft of wheat. The name ALRUNES comes from ancient mythology. The Alrunes were female shapeshifters, and like art holds the power to continually evolve. For many years I was also known as Artgekko. I began designing web graphics in 1998. My original graphics site was called ARTGEKKO'S GRAPHICS GALLERY. A link to that site can also be found at the DESIGN page. My combined websites have provided a thousand original web-elements to the internet community. I am also a partner in the graphics site BANNERZ~R~US, which is fast becoming one of the biggest, best and still free graphics sites on the web. Having been a horror fan since early on I have also set aside time to develop a series of online "choose your own adventure" stories at my website FRIGHTBYTES.COM, and have expanded that interest to a graphics gallery of it's own, FRIGHTBYTES.NET "Serving up Horror to the Net Byte by Byte!" Having multiple domains helps me to explore and express my lighter and darker sides and spurs creativity. I do a wide variety of web-graphics: awards, banners, fractals/abstracts, logos, avatars, designs for E-Books and E-Biz cards, greeting cards, human 3-D modeling (Poser), webpage templates, all graphical elements for webpage design, interfaces, and more.
